Your neighbourhood policing newsletter – Broxtowe
Hello and welcome to this latest update from your neighbourhood policing team.
Our current local police and partner priorities will continue into the next quarter:
What have we been doing about them?
Drug offences Drug offences have a detrimental impact on our communities and vulnerable persons, we want to tackle this issue robustly. Due to this, NPT carried out a couple of unrelated drug warrants with the Cannabis Dismantling Team, in Chilwell and Stapleford. Over 1000 cannabis plants were seized in total. Two offenders were arrested, charged and remanded. NPT will work with our partners and residents to reduce this issue. This is a fantastic result, and NPT will continue to tackle this issue.
Shop Theft NPT arrested and charged 14 offences against a prolific shop theft offender who was outstanding for numerous offences on Beeston including breaches of CBO. Another prolific offender was arrested for shop theft and recalled to prison. This positive action will continue to tackle this issue.
ASB NPT had calls from businesses about a man causing anti-social behaviour in Beeston Town Centre. NPT attended and arrested a male for being drunk and disorderly. Despite this, we would like to reassure partners and the community that ASB incidents in Beeston have reduced, and we will continue to patrol and reassure the community.
Community concerns
Op Wheelspin In June Op Wheelspin staff located over 200 cars that attended Phoenix Park, Daleside Rd, and A453, for planned car meets. Police are aware that these vehicles are also linked to the issues around Toton. Police identified persons linked to organising the car meet up. Police put in place a Section 34 Dispersal Order. Officers issued Section 35 notices, which enabled officers informing those involved, that they cannot return to the area for the specified period. If they did, they would be arrested for failing to comply with the dispersal notice. This led to vehicles leaving the area. Several drivers will also be prosecuted for offences.
Kind Regards
